Paper Pumpkin and A Scrapbook Peek

May Paper Pumpkin kit; order by the 10th
I am pretty excited by the sneak peak they gave us for this month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  I know many of you prefer the cards kits but there are some who do like the 3d items too!  Well it looks like this one will be cards! Look!

And it also looks like its geared towards men which is hard for some of us floral lovers to do.  I love the laser die-cuts they show here.
If you want to get this months kit and are not a subscriber yet; be sure to order a one month kit or join Paper Pumpkin by May 10th. These kits in the mail are so fun to receive.  No planning or cutting; just relax and craft! The 10th is the last day you can get this kit.  To order

I finally finished the scrapbook!   Well almost, I actually decided to change the inside to make it possible for the customers to complete the book during class time.  I need to add some embellishments inside.  I will show the pages in the next post.

Cards: Using Retired Stamp Sets and Punches

Hello,
I am still working on the scrapbook I promise to post.  It is almost done.  Mother's Day celebration starts tomorrow for me, so I will not be able to complete the scrapbook till next Monday.  I thought I would share the cards below, since the stamp sets I used,  have a short time left with Stampin' Up.

This is the final month to purchase the stamp sets used below.  They are on the retired list.  As of June, Stampin' Up will no longer have them available for you to buy.

The stamp sets below are:  Bravo and Dotty Angles.
The one below is Bordering Blooms.

The first card is a masculine designed and the above card is a feminine designed.  Both card can be used for different occasions:  Job Promotion, Graduation, Teacher (completed the school year), Selling a House and for many more celebrations.

In the card below I used embossing folders and punches.  All of these items are on the retired list.
Embossing Folders:  Chevron, Decorative Dots, Stylish Stripes, and Zig Zag.
The Punches:  Large Oval, Scallop Oval, 1/2" Circle, 7/8" scallop, 1 1/4"scallop, 1 3/4" scallop,   2 3/8" Scallop, and the Bird Builder.  The little flower in the above card is also on the retire list:  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

I love the big paper flower I made.  I hope to make more to decorate above my craft room window for the summer.

I had an awesome Monday hiking with my husband (which is one reason I couldn't finish the scrapbook).  I wanted to share some of the pictures taken during the hike.  The Northwest is so beautiful.

Spring Sampler

This Spring Sampler is designed for the up coming class this Thursday, April 28th.  We will put it in a 12 x 12 frame.  I used the different flower stamp sets in the Spring Catalog to make this project, which would be a great gift for that someone special.

It has been a great spring season in the Northwest.  We have had lots of sunny days and warm weather.  My husband is especially happy, because hiking season has started.  Below are some pictures of our hike with the grandchildren last spring.

We are looking forward to more fun hikes this summer.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Hope you like the project.

Purse and Cards for a Gift

I love Fridays because Saturdays and Sundays are relax days filled with family activities including grandchildren's sport events.  I did not post yesterday for a good reason.  It was grandma's duty day.  One of those days I get to help in a pinch.

The class project this week was making a Purse Card Holder with 6 note size cards.  This project can be a great gift for that someone special  for any event this next month:  Mother's Day, Birthday, Promotion, a Thank You and Graduation.

To make the purse you need a 6" x 11" piece of card stock, score at 5" & 6",  a 2" x 8 1/2" strip for the inside of the purse to hold the cards which is scored 1/2" & 1 1/2" on each end.  The flap is die cut using the largest circle framelits and scored at 1" & 2".  I punch a small hole on each end of the center section (between the 1" & 2") of the circle for the ribbon which I used for the handle and tied  knots on the inside.   Round the corners of the purse and decorate it.
For the cards, I used the note cards that can be found on page 148 in the main catalog.  The price is very reasonable.  You get 20 cards and enevelopes for $6.00.
Thank You for visiting my blog.  Hope you have a great week-end.  Be sure to take some time to stamp and enjoy your creative ideas.

Flower Shop Card

Good Day to You,
Yesterday I showed you a card I made for a swap while I was attending "On Stage" in Utah.
Today, I am sharing the card I made for my second swap.

I used the stamp sets:  Flower Shop, and Wild about Flowers  The card stock colors are:  Wild      Wasabi and Pink Pirouette.  The flowers were stamped on:  Calypso Coral, Rose Red, and Watermelon Wonder card stock.  I punched out the flower  with the Pansy punch and the corners with the:  Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  For embellishments, I used the 5/8" Organza Ribbon and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush   Like the card yesterday, you can add a gift card in the front inside pocket.

The Stampin' Up event:  "On Stage" was fun and filled with good memories.   Spending time with others who have the same passion in stamping, exchanging ideas and experiences, is always rewarding.  The SU activities kept us busy and the general sessions were great.  I love the new products and New Catalog!!!!   You are in for a great surprise.  The new catalog will go live in June.
